HAMAS DEVELOPS NEW KASSAM MISSILE

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel has confirmed the development of a new Palestinianmissile. Israeli military sources said Hamas has developed the Kassam-5short-range missile. The sources said the missile contained a range of 16.5kilometers and could strike the Israeli city of Ashkelon from the northernGaza Strip. Ashkelon contains a major power station as well as an oilpipeline.
