ISRAELIS LEAVE SINAI AMID TERROR ALERT
JERUSALEM [MENL] -- Israeli tourists have been streaming out of Egypt amidan alert of an imminent Islamic insurgency attack. Officials said hundreds of Israelis left the Sinai Peninsula on Sunday in wake of an alert that insurgents were planning a major attack over the Jewish New Year, which begins on Monday evening. They said about 2,500 Israelis remain in Sinai. About 30,000 Israelis had been expected to vacation in the peninsula.
