UAE SEEKS TO BUILD DEFENSE INDUSTRY

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The United Arab Emirates has been building a defenseindustry that could serve the entire Gulf region. The effort has been led by the UAE military and focuses on thedevelopment and production of aerospace systems. Officials said the industrybegan by developing capability for aircraft overhaul and repair and plans toproduce platforms and subsystems.
