Turkey Orders Naval Underwater Surveillance
LONDON [MENL] -- Turkey has ordered a Western underwater surveillance
system.
The Turkish Navy has awarded a contract for integrated underwater
surveillance systems to Norway's Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace.
Kongsberg has signed a contract with Turkey's Aselsan for delivery of the
above-water and underwater surveillance and detection systems to protect
Turkish Navy bases.
Executives said the contract was valued at 130 million Norwegian krona,
or about $25 million. They said delivery would be completed within three
years.
