Russia Tests Advanced Missile Defense System

MOSCOW [MENL] -- Russia has been testing an advanced missile defense system
offered to allies in the Middle East.
Officials said the Russian Air Force has been testing a new interceptor
for the S-400 Triumph missile defense system. They said the interceptor was
designed to destroy incoming enemy missiles at a range of 400 kilometers.
"The S-400 system is being successfully deployed with air defense
units," Russian Air Force commander Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin said. "At
present, we are testing a new missile for this system."
