Yemen Could Be Overpowered By Rebels
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. intelligence community has been warned that
Iranian-backed Shi'ite rebels could overpower the regime in Yemen.
A report for the Defense Intelligence Agency asserted that the Believing
Youth movement was becoming stronger in wake of the February 2010 ceasefire
with the regime of President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The report by the Rand Corp.
said Yemen does not have sufficient trained forces to fight the Shi'ite
rebellion, also known as Houthis, in the north.
