U.S. Announces Israeli-PA Direct Talks

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has invited Israel and the
Palestinian Authority to resume direct negotiations.
Officials said President Barack Obama has scheduled the launch of direct
talks between Israel and the PA for Sept. 2 in Washington. They said Obama
has granted a one-year deadline for the success of the talks, meant to
establish a Palestinian state throughout the West Bank by 2012.
