Israeli Intel: Iran Stumped By Arab Spring
JERUSALEM [MENL] -- The Israeli intelligence community has determined that
Iran's plans to extend its influence throughout the Arab world was
threatened by pro-democracy revolts in 2011.
A report by the open source arm of the intelligence community asserted
that Iranian policy was being challenged in such ally states as Syria and
Lebanon. The community, in an assessment echoed by Israeli Defense Minister
Ehud Barak on Jan. 2, said Iran was facing rising pro-democracy unrest both
at home as well as in neighboring states.
