Syrian Opposition Chief Quits

LONDON [MENL] -- The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood-aligned Syrian
opposition has resigned in wake of his controversial election.
Syrian National Council chairman Burhan Ghalioun announced his
resignation on May 17 amid threats to divide the opposition. Under Ghalioun,
SNC was accused of refusing to cooperate with other elements of the
opposition or Sunni rebel militias.
