Insurgency Cells Spring Up In W. Bank
JERUSALEM [MENL] -- Palestinian insurgency cells, believed receiving funds
from Iran, have emerged throughout the West Bank.
Israeli security sources said Iranian money, channeled through such
proxies as Hamas, Hizbullah and Islamic Jihad, was helping generate
insurgency squads assigned to kill or abduct Israeli civilians and soldiers.
They said some of the cells were linked to Hamas and Fatah while others
appeared to have been formed by non-aligned Palestinians.
