Egypt Places Sinai Forces On Alert

CAIRO [MENL] -- Egypt has placed its military and security forces on alert.
Security sources said Egypt's domestic intelligence agency has been
warned of an imminent attack by Al Qaida-aligned fighters in the Sinai
Peninsula. They said the attack could be similar to the Aug. 5 strike, in
which 16 Egyptian soldiers were killed near the Israeli border.
