Israel Sees Lasers Replacing SAMs

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Israel's military envisions the development of laser
weapons as a leading component in the nation's air defense network.
The Institute for the Study of War reported that the Israeli military
has decided to employ lasers as the next tool for air and missile defense.
The Washington-based institute said the Israel Defense Forces envision
lasers as replacing air defense batteries.
