U.S. Uses UAE For Navy Repairs

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The U.S. Navy has been using the United Arab Emirates
for ship repairs.
The navy said the UAE hosted the largest repair outside of the United
States of a surface vessel. In August 2012, the USS Porter, a guided-missile
destroyer, had collided with a large Japanese-owned merchant vessel near the
Strait of Hormuz and was repaired in the UAE port of Dubai.
