Officer's Death Hard Blow To IRGC

LONDON [MENL] -- The assassination of a leading Iranian military officer was
regarded as a blow to Teheran's interests in Lebanon.
Arab diplomatic sources and analysts said the death of Gen. Hassan
Shateri on Feb. 12 marked the loss of a leading Islamic Revolutionary Guard
Corps representative in Lebanon. They said Shateri, assigned to IRGC's Quds
Force, would be difficult to replace amid the Sunni war in neighboring
Syria.
