U.S. Sees CI Decline In N. Africa
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has seen a decline in
counter-insurgency efforts in North Africa.
Officials said the U.S. military determined that CI operations have not
kept pace with the growth of Al Qaida in North Africa and Sahel. They said
Al Qaida was forming cells in most countries in the region despite military
and security cooperation with the United States and NATO.
