NATO Seeks GCC Cooperation

LONDON [MENL] -- NATO, despite a rift within the Arab alliance, continues to
work to expand relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council.
NATO said it planned to enhance cooperation with GCC states already in
the Istanbul Conference Initiative. The Western alliance has been drafting
proposals that could include training and exercises with such GCC members as
Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
