WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia, under threat from neighboring Iran and
its allies, must draft a defense doctrine, a report said.
A leading Saudi adviser has asserted that the Gulf Cooperation Council
kingdom must plan for both internal and external threats over the next few
years. The adviser, Nawaf Obaid, said the doctrine must aim to bolster
interoperability with allies, enhance counter-insurgency and improve the
military.
