Turkish Base Said To Defend Israel
ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey's opposition, seeking to capitalize on the
anti-Israel backlash, has accused the government of approving a NATO missile
base to defend the Jewish state.
Turkey's largest opposition party said Prime Minister Recep Erdogan has
allowed the deployment of a NATO missile defense base meant to protect
Israel from attacks from neighboring Iran. The Republican People's Party
said the NATO base was located in the eastern province of Malayta and
contained a long-range X-band early-detection radar.
