Iran Plans To Build Huge Naval Platforms

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran plans to produce the largest surface naval platforms
in the Gulf.
Officials said Iran has approved plans to develop and manufacture a
destroyer and electric-diesel submarines. They said the destroyer would be
the largest in the Gulf and most of the Middle East.
"The Iranian nation will see that we will manufacture the largest
destroyer and the most advanced submarines in the region," Iranian Deputy
Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Ataollah Salehi said.
