Turkey Decides To Bolster Military Ties To Syria
LONDON [MENL] -- Turkey has decided to bolster its defense and military
relations with Syria.
Syrian sources said the government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan
reached the decision to launch defense and military cooperation in 2009 in
wake of the Israel war with Hamas. The sources said Turkey offered to begin
exercises and other military cooperation with Syria
"This was a political decision and the [Turkish] military gave its
approval," a Syrian source said.
