Saudis Said To Fund Separatist Movement In Yemen
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Yemen has identified Saudi princes as having funded the
revived separatist movement in southern Yemen.
Officials said Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh relayed details of
Saudi funding to the separatist movement during his talks with Saudi King
Abdullah on June 1. They said Saleh appealed to Abdullah to stop the flow of
money from his kingdom to the growing separatist movement.
"Saleh is telling Abdullah that a separatist movement in southern Yemen
will be immediately coopted by Iran and other enemies of the Saudis," an
official said.
