Israel Said To Use Armed Hermes In Gaza
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Israel was said to have deployed the Hermes-class
unmanned aerial vehicle for combat missions against Hamas in 2009.
Human Rights Watch said the Israel Air Force employed the Hermes-450 UAV
armed with light rockets to target suspected insurgency targets in the Gaza
Strip in December 2008 and January 2009. The New York-based HRW, in a
39-page report by military analyst Mark Garlasco, said the Hermes fired the
Spike air-to-ground missile and perhaps other Israeli weapons.
