U.S. Develops System To Detect Tunnels
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has been developing a system to detect weapons tunnels used along the Egyptian-Gaza border.
The Defense Department has sponsored a project to develop technology to detect and locate buried land mines and tunnels, an emerging threat in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has awarded a $19 million contract to Raytheon develop a technology demonstrator as part of the on the Seismic and Acoustic Vibration Imaging program.
