TURKEY PLANS FAST-TRACK AIR TRAINER PROGRAM

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has launched a fast-track program to procure an airtrainer. Officials said Turkey's Defense Industry Undersecretariat, known as SSM,plans to award a contract for the acquisition of a basic jet trainer in2006. They said the Turkish Air Force would procure 36 such aircraft in anestimated $450 million deal.
