U.S. ARMY EXHIBITS ANTI-IED ROBOT

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. Army has exhibited a robot used to foilroadside bombs in Iraq. The army displayed a modified version of an army robot at the WashingtonAuto show, which took place last week. The meter-tall robot, termed SpecialWeapons Observation Remote Direct-Action System, or SWORDS, was part of anarmy exhibition that displayed systems deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
