OMAN SIGNS CONTRACT TO DEVELOP SMALL FIELDS

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Oman has signed a contract to develop 18 small oilfields. The state-owned Petroleum Development Oman has signed a contract withMedco Energi International to develop the oil fields in southern Oman.Officials said the contract was unprecedented in that it allowed a foreigncompany to develop and service oil assets in the sultanate.
