GREECE SIGNS CONTRACT FOR NAVAL WEAPONS

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Greece has signed a direct commercial sale contract forthe procurement of naval weapons. The Hellenic Navy has signed a contract with the U.S. firm Raytheon forfive Phalanx Block 1A Close-In Weapon Systems. Officials said the firstPhalanx will be delivered in late 2004 and the project is to be completedthe following year.
