GCC PIPELINE WOULD BYPASS DANGER ZONE

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The Gulf Cooperation Council plans to build an oilpipeline that would bypass an Iranian-controlled area of the Gulf. Officials said the pipeline being launched by all six GCC states wouldbypass the Straits of Hormuz. Iran, which shares the waterway with Oman, haswarned against foreign naval vessels entering the narrow waterway, which isless than seven kilometers wide.
