BRITAIN BEGINS AIR EXERCISE IN JORDAN

AMMAN [MENL] -- British warplanes have arrived in the Hashemite kingdom forthe start of an air exercise with Jordan. A squadron of 14 fighter-jets arrived in Jordan for exercises in theeastern part of the kingdom near the Iraqi border. The exercise, entitled"Desert Thundercat," began on Sunday and is meant to last 12 days.
