YEMEN READY TO ACTIVATE COAST GUARD

CAIRO [MENL] -- Yemen is preparing to activate its new coast guard, equippedby the United States. Officials said the coast guard would help monitor Yemen's territorialwaters to stop the flow of insurgents and weapons through the ArabianPeninsula. They said naval vessels would patrol both the Red Sea as well asthe Sea of Oman.
