GCC INVITES DEFENSE MINISTER FOR COORDINATION
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The Gulf Cooperation Council has invited defense andforeign ministers for an emergency meeting to bolster regional security inpreparation for a U.S.-led war against Iraq. The London-based Al Hayat daily reported on Wednesday that the GCCmeeting would take place on Feb. 8 in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-ownednewspaper asserted that the session would focus on "coordination andconsultation" among the six Gulf Arab states regarding a war against Iraqand the aftermath of the toppling of the regime of President Saddam Hussein.
