U.S. REPORTS SUCCESS IN YEMENI TRAINING PROGRAM

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has reported success in its programto bolster Yemen's military capabilities. Officials said the U.S. program consists of equipping and trainingYemen's military to stop operations by Al Qaida and satellite organizationsin the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa. They said Yemen is a keyelement in the U.S. strategy to disrupt Al Qaida plans around the region.
