GCC REMAINS DISSATISFIED OVER MILITARY TIES

LONDON [MENL] -- The Gulf Cooperation Council, despite its first militarymission in the region, remains dissatisfied over the extent of its defensecooperation. GCC officials said the six-nation alliance has allowed rivalries andsuspicion to disrupt plans for expanded defense and military cooperation.They said the GCC has failed to develop efforts for joint systems andprocurement to bolster regional security.
