OMAN PLANS TO ESTABLISH MILITARY ACADEMY

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Oman, launching a drive to improve its military, plansto establish the sultanate's first national defense academy. Officials said the Defense Ministry has been discussing the project withboth the military and foreign contractors. They said the institution would be named the "Joint Technical College" and would be capable of training up to2,000 students per year in academic and technical skills.
