IRAQ WAR COULD SERVE AS TEST OF S. AFRICAN WEAPONS

LONDON [MENL] -- The war in Iraq could be the first major test of SouthAfrican weaponry. Western industry sources said both Iraq as well as U.S.-led allies planto use South African ground platforms in any war. The sources said Iraq isexpected to deploy South African howitzers while Britain will use laserrangefinders and ammunition developed or produced by Pretoria.
