KUWAIT RELIES ON EGYPTIAN SYSTEM FOR CRUISE DEFENSE

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Kuwait hopes that an Egyptian air defense system canhelp protect the sheikdom from Iraqi cruise missiles. Kuwaiti military sources said they have received guarantees that Egypt'sAl Amoun air defense system could intercept Chinese Silkworm missiles firedby Kuwait. The sources said Kuwait received the Al Amoun system recentlyfrom Egypt and that it has become operational.
