U.S. FORCES REACH BAGHDAD

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- U.S. military units have reached the outskirts ofBaghdad. Officials said U.S. Army and Marine Corps units reached the southernedge of the Iraqi capital on late Sunday. They said the units wereconducting what they termed probing missions to determine the extent ofIraqi defenses around the city.
