ISRAEL SHEDS AGING NAVAL PLATFORMS

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's navy continues to shed its aging platforms amiddeep cuts in the defense budget. Military sources said the navy has been retiring additional equipmentand platforms amid a shortage of funds for maintenance and overhaul. Thesources said training has also been cut back, which has idled agingplatforms.
