ISRAEL ASSERTS UN FAILS TO PATROL N. BORDER

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel has determined that despite repeated pledges theUnited Nations refuses to cooperate with Israel in ensuring the security ofits northern border with Lebanon. Israeli military sources said Northern Command has reported that the UNInterim Forces in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, has failed to take any actionthat limits Hizbullah insurgency activities along the Israeli-Lebaneseborder. The sources said UN troops and observers have ignored Hizbullahoperations such as rocket attacks and the planting of landmines insideIsrael.
