U.S. UNIMPRESSED WITH SHARON'S WITHDRAWAL PLAN
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Bush administration appears unimpressed with theunilateral withdrawal plan of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. U.S. officials said the administration has heard details of Sharon'splan for an Israeli withdrawal from Jewish communities in the West Bank andGaza Strip in recent meetings in Jerusalem and Washington. The officialssaid the plan calls for a limited withdrawal from the West Bank and GazaStrip in exchange for indefinite control over the rest of the territoriescaptured in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
