BOEING REACHES MILESTONE IN TURKISH AEW PROJECT

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Boeing has reached a milestone in a $1.1 billionproject to manufacture airborne early-warning and alert aircraft for Turkey. Executives said Boeing has completed the preliminary design review ofthe airborne and ground mission systems for Turkey's first 737 AEW aircraftas part of a project termed Peace Eagle. They said Ankara's defensecontractors played a major role in the review of the design architecture toensure that Turkish Air Force requirements were met.
