SUDAN GROUP DEEMED HELPER OF AL QAIDA
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has asserted that Sudan continues toharbor financiers of Al Qaida and other groups deemed as terrorist. U.S. officials said Sudan has failed to crack down on organizations andindividuals who have aided Osama Bin Laden and other Islamic insurgencygroups. Officials cited the Sudanese harboring of Hamas and Islamic Jihad,two Palestinian groups that appear on the State Department's list ofterrorist organizations.
