U.S. DESIGNATES TAWID A TERROR GROUP

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- After more than a year of suicide bombings in Iraq, theAl Qaida-aligned Tawhid and Jihad has been deemed a terrorist group by theUnited States. The Tawhid and Jihad group has been led by Abu Mussib Al Zarqawi,regarded as the most lethal insurgent in Iraq. The group has claimedresponsibility for scores of car bombings that have killed more than 1,000Iraqis in 2003 and 2004.
