ISRAEL FIRM NEARLY DOUBLES PROFITS

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- A leading state-owned Israeli defense contractor hasreported a doubling of profits but a loss in sales in 2004. Rafael, Israel Armament Development Authority reported net earnings of$33 million for the first half of 2004. The net income for the same periodlast year was $17 million.
