QATAR, SHELL LAUNCH GTL PROJECT

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Qatar and Royal Dutch/Shell Group have launched aproject to build a gas-to-liquid [GTL] facility. The estimated $6 billion project would convert 140,000 barrels of GTLfuel per day in an effort to produce energy with a low emission standard.The project, which includes Qatar Shell GTL, a member of Royal Dutch/Shell,would take place in two stages and last through 2011.
