JORDAN SEEKS TO UPGRADE HELICOPTER FLEET

AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan's air force has launched an effort to upgrade itscombat helicopter fleet. Officials and industry sources said Jordan's military has been indiscussions with a range of Western contractors for new weapons andsubsystems for the air force's helicopter fleet. They said the aim was toincrease the fleet's firepower and capability to operate at night and inpoor weather.
