IRAQ IS KEY IN QATAR-U.S. DIALOGUE

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The strategic dialogue between Qatar and the UnitedStates appears to have been dominated by the insurgency in Iraq. U.S. officials said Secretary of State Colin Powell urged his Qataricounterpart, Hamad Bin Jaber Bin Jassim Al Thani, to crack down on theDoha-based A-Jazeera satellite channel. The officials said the StateDepartment has determined that A-Jazeera has served as the mouthpiece forthe Sunni resistance against the U.S.-led coalition.
