Turkey Awaits Russian ATGMs

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has been preparing for the delivery of advanced
anti-tank guided missiles from Russia.
Turkey's Defense Industry Undersecretariat has signed a $70 million
contract for the Kornet-E anti-tank missile system. Turkish sources said the
first shipment of the Kornet, designated by NATO as the AT-14, would arrive
in 2009.
"This is an excellent system that will help us in counter-terrorist
missions," a Turkish defense source said.
