Israel Fears PA Will Use NSF In Next War

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military has assessed that the Palestinian
Authority would use its U.S.-trained forces in any Arab war against Israel.
Military sources said military intelligence has determined that the
U.S.-trained and -equipped National Security Force could comprise an element
in any Arab confrontation with Israel. The sources said NSF, meant to expand
to at least 40,000 troops, was being trained in Jordan on skills that could
be used against Israel.
"If there is another uprising in the West Bank, we assess that many of
the newly-trained forces would be sent to attack us and Jewish settlers," a
military source said.
