Oil Find Confirmed In Syria

LONDON [MENL] -- A Western contractor has confirmed the discovery of crude
oil in Syria.
Gulfsands Petroleum reported the flow of oil at its Yusefiyeh-1 well in
northern Syria. Gulfsands, which operates Block 26, said the well was
flowing at a rate of 900 barrels of oil per day. The company said total oil
production from the Khurbet East Field has exceeded one million barrels per
day.
